On January 22, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Samoa Hon. Papali'i Li'o Taeu Masipau. 

Ambassador Fei said that the just-held Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs has pointed out the direction for China's external work in the new era. China will continue promoting stable development of China-Samoa relations under the guidance of the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.

Hon. Papali'i emphasized that Samoa firmly adheres to the one-China principle and wishes to further strengthen cooperation with China in legislation and other fields.
